Heather's Story
Reclaiming Identity After Loss
Client: Heather, early 40s, grieving the loss of her mother and struggling with finding direction in her life.
Challenge: Heather was consumed by grief and felt disconnected from her passions and purpose. The loss left her feeling aimless and unsure of how to move forward.
Approach: I combined grief counseling with life coaching to help Heather process her emotions and rediscover her sense of purpose. Hypnotherapy helped her heal deeply from unresolved grief, while coaching guided her toward new goals.
Testimonial: “How I met Brian was not through traditional means, he was at my work doing a mental health seminar and I happened to see his poster outside the stage lobby. To be frank! I thought it was weird to see such a big guy talking on such a topic. He does not fit the role, if you know what I mean. In any event, I took a picture of his poster for my friend who needed a therapist. I never thought much about it. It was not until months later I lost my mother and it was like losing a part of myself, and for a long time, I just couldn’t function. When I lost my mom, I felt like the ground beneath me had disappeared. I couldn't even get out of bed some days, and I would catch myself still waiting to hear her voice when I walked into the house.

I went through the motions of life, but nothing felt meaningful. I had no idea how to move forward—how to even begin to live without her in my life. Then I sent Brian an email out of the blue never thinking he would answer, ha! He answered within a day. When I started working with Brian, I was skeptical, but his understanding and compassion made all the difference. He didn’t try to fix me; he gave me space to grieve while gently helping me find a new purpose. I didn’t know if talking to someone would even help me. But during our third session, when Brian helped me realize that it was okay to feel lost and not have all the answers, something clicked. It was like I could breathe again
Through our work, I began to realize that I could honor my mom’s memory by helping others who were grieving, just like I was. I never thought I’d get here, but now I feel like I’m living with purpose again. My mom’s legacy lives on, and I’m stronger than I ever imagined I could be. I want to personally thank Brian for making me a new me and giving me the strength I needed to be empowered ”
